Jon Bannister

Jon Bannister, Vice President, Investment Sales, brings over 15 years of commercial real estate experience to Veritas Realty’s Investment Sales Group, focusing on the disposition and acquisition of retail, restaurant, entertainment and medical real estate. Jon works with developers, individual investors, fund managers, REITs and institutions in the underwriting, marketing and sale of investment properties nationally, with a focus on the Midwest region. His extensive experience and knowledge allows him to provide clients with unique expertise in the development of strategic business plans for real estate investments and formulation of acquisition and disposition strategies based upon quantitative and subject analyses.

Prior to joining Veritas Realty, Jon spent 14 years at Simon Property Group, a global leader in the ownership of premier retail properties, gaining invaluable experience in the finance, sales, leasing, and development aspects of investment real estate. Before Jon’s leadership role in the Leasing Department at Simon, he honed his investment real estate acumen in the Financial Planning & Analysis Department, building financial models and compiling detailed pro-forma analyses. Most recently, Jon served as Assistant Vice President of the Leasing Department, overseeing large-scale shopping centers and successfully leasing over 1.1 million square feet of small-shop retail space. Additionally, he specialized in complex lease negotiations with national retail and restaurant tenants, while simultaneously implementing strategic leasing and management initiatives by utilizing his market knowledge and strong relationships with the respective tenants to close transactions.  During his tenure at Simon Property Group, Jon completed lease and sale transactions throughout many of the largest markets in the country, with numerous high-profile tenants such as Arhaus, lululemon athletica, Athleta, Vineyard Vines, Bar Louie, Tesla, Orange Theory Fitness, Chick-Fil-A, and Verizon.

Jon attended Indiana University, graduating from the Kelley School of Business with a degree in Finance Real Estate. During that time, Jon cycled for IU and raced in the Little 500, which is the largest collegiate bike race in the country. Today, Jon continues an active lifestyle with hobbies that include running, triathlons, and cycling. Also, he is an active member of ICSC and Highland Country Club.
