Jon Bannister

Jon Bannister brings more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience to Veritas Realty’s Investment Sales Group, where he focuses on the disposition and acquisition of retail, restaurant, entertainment, and medical real estate. Over the course of his career, Jon has completed more than $800 million in real estate transactions. He advises developers, private investors, fund managers, REITs, and institutions on the underwriting, marketing, and sale of investment properties nationwide, with a particular focus on the Midwest. Drawing on deep market knowledge and rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis, Jon helps clients develop strategic business plans for their real estate investments and build acquisition and disposition strategies designed to maximize value.

Before joining Veritas Realty, Jon spent 14 years at Simon Property Group, a global leader in the ownership of premier retail properties, where he gained hands-on experience across the finance, sales, leasing, and development sides of investment real estate. He began in the Financial Planning & Analysis Department, building financial models and detailed pro forma analyses that sharpened his investment acumen. He later moved into leadership in the Leasing Department, most recently serving as Assistant Vice President, where he oversaw large-scale shopping centers and leased more than 1.1 million square feet of small-shop retail space. In that role, he specialized in complex lease negotiations with national retail and restaurant tenants and led strategic leasing and management initiatives, leveraging his market knowledge and strong tenant relationships to close transactions. Throughout his tenure at Simon, Jon completed lease and sale transactions in many of the country’s largest markets with high-profile tenants including Arhaus, Lululemon Athletica, Athleta, Vineyard Vines, Bar Louie, Tesla, Orangetheory Fitness, Chick-fil-A, and Verizon.

Jon is a graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, where he earned a degree in Finance and Real Estate. While at IU, he cycled competitively and raced in the Little 500, the largest collegiate bike race in the country. Jon maintains an active lifestyle as a runner, triathlete, and cyclist, and is an active member of ICSC.
